Our "art and exploration" initiative encourages New York City students grades 3-12 to creatively problem-solve and think outside-the-box. For many young kids, art based initiatives have diminished from their core curriculum. Many children have limited access to creative explorations of their ideas, their surroundings, and their curiosities. The Pupil Project using digital photography and videography (filmmaking) to stimulate their curiousities, re-define and re-frame their view.
STEM TO STEAM
The Pupil Project 2.0 incorporates the discovery of digital technology from an engineering viewpoint. We build various types of image collecting devices, and utilize them in both a scientific and artistic manner. We use art to craft the science behind pixelation while answering "What makes an image?". Art + Technology is intertwined in a creative manner that allows exploration and individual expression.
BENEFITS AND REWARDS
We create for a cause - to captivate young, imaginative minds, and in turn welcome the general community to become their captive audience. We want participants to re-think, re-define, and re-frame their views - of their surroundings, themselves, and towards varying aspects of their daily lives. From the compact contents of a single bag, our program delivers children a mindset of exploration, fascination, and enjoyment that emanates from the palm of their hands.
All equipment, tools and necessary supplies are provided. Our partners need only supply an appropriated space.
We have flexible weekly sessions available, Mondays through Fridays, any 2 hours between 3p-6p, on any 1-2 days per week.
We operate in close alignment to the NYC DOE school calendar.
